If you’re looking for an unconventional way to celebrate Halloween, drop by Bringing Tap Back dance studio to take advantage of their free Thriller workshop. On Friday October 24th, you can join friends and family to learn Michael Jackson’s Thriller routine. The event is open to both dancers and non-dancers and you can indulge in peanut-free candy during the festivities. Two workshops are running, the first one at 6:00 p.m. and the second one at 8:00 p.m. Feel free to dress up for the occasion and wear your Halloween costume. Kitchener-Waterloo’s most exciting and terrifying destination is Fear Farm which boasts 100 acres of farm, a haunted hayride and haunted house. If you’re feeling brave enough, drop by and see why thousands of people visit Dr. Fear’s Hayride, Condemned Farmstead and Hiller House. Admission for these three haunted attractions is $26 + HST. Fear Farm is open from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on every weekend until Sunday November 2nd. It is best to purchase haunted house tickets in advance and arrive early to avoid any lines. Located at 936685 Blenheim Road, Fear Farm is a 24-minute drive from the Waterloo Apartments.
Skaralee Manor is the scariest home haunt you’ll find in Cambridge this year. Experience a terrifying 400-square foot walk through a haunted house filled with live actors, zombies, and professional animatronics and effects. While there is no admission charge, the Haunted House of Horrors is asking for cash donations that will be given to the local Humane Society. Located at Karalee Crescent, this hair-rising haunt is a 22-minute drive from the apartments.
Dyments Pumpkin Patch & Country Harvest
For more family and kid-oriented Halloween celebrations Dyments Pumpkin Patch and Country Harvest is the ideal spot. Enjoy wagon rides, wander around their pumpkin patch and participate in a variety of fun, Halloween-themed activities perfect for little ones and adults. A Corn Maze, Spook Hut and Spookley Theatre, Wagon Ride, Bouncing Ball Track, Straw Fort and Animal Farm are among the offerings you can enjoy. Visit for the activities or to select that perfect pumpkin for your Halloween décor or dishes. Located at 416 Fallsview Road East in Dundas, the pumpkin patch is a 49-minute drive from the Waterloo Apartments.
Shantzholm Pumpkins also offers an array of activities suitable for all ages. A straw maze, farm animals, corn maze, pumpkin picking and assorted fall produce available for purchase are among the goodies you can enjoy. Best of all, admission is free. Located at 1544 Bleams Road in Petersburg, this local farm is a 15-minute drive from the Pinegrove Apartments.
